In 2017 PACDC will be celebrating 25 years of serving Philadelphia's Community Development Corporations, neighborhoods, and residents. We couldn't be prouder of the many successes of this organization, and of the growth and prominence of Philadelphia’s CDC sector in cultivating local, regional, and national leaders. We plan to celebrate our 25th Anniversary throughout 2017 with a series of events recognizing the accomplishments of the past and building upon that progress for the future, including:
25th ANNIVERSARY GALA AND AWARDS CEREMONY: April 18 @ 5:30 p.m. – WHYY
This annual event recognizes excellence in Philadelphia's community development industry and celebrates the support of the many stakeholders who help revitalize Philadelphia's neighborhoods. The 25th Anniversary Gala will feature awards honoring institutional and individual leadership. Buy your tickets here.
Last year's Blue Ribbon Award Winner, People's Emergency Center for their Neighborhood Time Exchange Project.
PACDC ANNUAL MAGAZINE: A full-sized, four-color magazine will be released at the Gala and then widely distributed throughout the year. It showcases award winners and finalists, describes the work that PACDC and our 115 members do throughout the year, and highlights key issues facing the community development field. The 2017 Annual Magazine will focus on Economic Development. Find a copy of last years magazine here.
EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE: JUNE 28 – Public Health Management Corporation and Temple University Center City.
Keynote Speaker – Dr. Mindy Fullilove, Professor of Urban Policy and Health, THE NEW SCHOOL for Public Engagement. This day-long conference also will feature panel discussions and workshops, capped by a reception at Dilworth Park. 25 YEARS OF CDC COLLECTIVE IMPACT REPORT: FALL RELEASE (Date TBD)
PACDC will release a report offering a 25-year examination of how Philadelphia CDC investments have contributed to the local economy based on indicators including total wages and services generated, the impact of spending on the local economy, job creation, and the increase in property values due to new construction and blight mitigation. Find a similar report we did in 2012 here.
CULMINATING CELEBRATION/ANNUAL MEETING: END OF YEAR 2017 (Date TBD) – Philadelphia Museum of Art
This event will coincide with Philadelphia Assembled, a creative placemaking project whose concluding phase will be staged in the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Perelman Building.
