Philadelphia LISC Looking for a Part-Time Community Development Assistant

Philadelphia Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is the local office of LISC, a national nonprofit community development organization that has invested $16.2 billion in 31 cities across the United States. LISC combines corporate, government, and philanthropic resources to help community-based organizations revitalize underserved neighborhoods. Philadelphia LISC is a catalyst for community change, working with partners to strengthen neighborhoods and improve the lives of residents. Since 1980, Philadelphia LISC has invested $390 million to build or preserve 8,075 affordable homes and apartments and develop 1.8 million square feet of retail, community, and educational space. LISC works with community partners to build sustainable communities, which includes: developing, preserving and investing in housing and other real estate; increasing family income and wealth; stimulating local and regional economic activity; improving access to quality education; fostering livable, safe and healthy environments; promoting arts and culture; and strengthening community leadership.

Philadelphia LISC seeks a Community Development Assistant to provide programmatic and administrative support for its Sustainable Communities Initiative. In addition, the position will help support our strategic priorities, which includes Financial Opportunity Centers, Economic Opportunity, Commercial Corridor Program, Community Safety Initiative, Creative Placemaking Program, and Housing. LISC values and supports individuals that are self-managing and place a high degree of ownership in all aspects of assigned work. A twelve month work plan will be developed to identify key goals and outcomes that will be achieved over the course of the year.  The deadline to apply is May 12th.
